It's almost definite that that is poa triv. Poa triv is not like poa annua, it rarely produces seedheads at lawn heights, and it's a long lived perennial. It will go dormant in summer, and regenerate from stolons in the fall. There's really on one herbicide that harms it, but in studies it has been shown to be ineffective at true control. If you really want to get rid of it, then you will have to remove a piece of sod that contains it making sure to not leave any stolons behind. You can resod the area or let the KBG fill in over time. If you do I would topdress the area with sand to prevent weed infiltration.

Maybe your strawberries would be happier growing with a ground cover like mine are doing? They (and my Iris)seem to love it so I'm letting them! It's also the only place I haven't been ripping out that awful Sedum. Sure it's a nice Sedum with pretty flowers and all, but it just shouldn't be planted in a mixed border/garden :O Thanks Karen, I love my Lavender plants and the ease of caring for them. All they need from me is a pruning a couple times a year; every other year or so a pretty hard one in spring to keep from getting woody centers. Next spring will have to whack the 'Vera' back because they are WAY large again and it was only the year before last they got it really good. They (the 4 plants) are 2 plants planted side by side (abt. 2' on center) and over the years they have basically grown into 2 shrubs. In flower (I just went and measured :)) they are 5.5' wide!

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back and check in. I was out of town for work and just got home. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments. It makes me feel good, I must admit. I always seem to see what needs to be done, and sometimes forget to look at what it is! I will try to answer everyone's questions. Hope I don't miss any. In no particular order... The lilies in the "big" picture are almost all daylilies. The lilies in the close-up pictures I am not sure. Just some bulbs I picked up, probably at a big box store or the local garden center? Sorry I don't have their names. The rose pictured in the 4th picture is Morden Belle. There are actually 3 bushes planted in that bed. I hope that is the rose you meant? Yes, I do have the courtyard of roses and yes they are blooming. However, many of the roses on the fence were taken down this year due to RRD. I have planted bittersweet in their place. Won't be the beautiful flowers, but will provide privacy that won't get RRD. As you can see from the picture below, the fence is now pretty bare looking on the side. I have decided that I will try to keep the roses on the fence across the end and around the corner. The need for privacy there is not so great, as the Wine and Roses weigela in the island bed does screen most of the garden from that end. Again, thank you everyone! Wetsuitor: The only ones I dug up this year were 4 washies and a sago palm, each of which would take considerable protection here including heat. I will be leaving those in when they get 2 big to handle, but the washies seem to take root distubance very well and overwinter well indoors. There is of course some set back and it is slow to get growing in the spring, however I'm not ready to get into an elaborate heating system yet. I'm trying to work out my kinks this year on a trachy. Plus my wife would kill me if I had Jim's setup! I live in maybe the coldest winter 6a in America. This will be my 3rd winter here, the lowest low each of the past 2 years is -2, and -8F, HOWEVER, it is the norm to go 3 weeks at a time never getting above freezing. Last December and January, we had 9 days that got above freezing during the day, and most of those were in the 33-38F range for highs. We also had 2 3-weeks seesions of consecutive below freezing weather. The other problem is that I generally don't see grass from Dec.1 to mid-March, it never gets warm enough to ever melt the snow. Last year I lost 2 decent sized trachies and a sabal palmetto, and my minors and needle that survived received considerable damage, the minors burned 98%, the only things left were the emerging spears. Needle had spear pull with surving pups. That was with frost cloth wrapped unheated leaf cages, which provided 0-30% damage and no losses the year before.
