A couple of questions

I just bought a Hoya "Rope" according to the label. I'm assuming it's a Hindu Rope.

The FAQ says to put hoyas in a sunny spot but out fo direct sun. That sounds contradictory to me. Can someone explain? Our den has windows facing east, south and west. There are no curtains but the windows are Low-E which is supposed to block summer rays and let winter rays in. DH's African violets love this room. They are in about the center of the room and in the East window. We run a humidifier in winter and have wood heat (stove is in another room). Where would be the best spot for my hoya?

Also about 30 years ago, BIL's mother has a large hoya in a hanging basket. The blooms smelled just like chocolate and I've always wanted one. Can someone tell me what kind it might have been?

Thanks so much for any tips.

VG
