Oh wow Pug! Congratulations and great pictures!

I feel elliptica falls into the same category as sp. square leaf, in having both very special leaves and very special blooms. The bud shape is so cool as it swells. And the blooms are so ornamental with all those swanky curves. There's just something very elegant and precious about them.

Congratulations, it must be VERY exciting to finally see this.

Is is just me, or does anyone else think that even tho' the open blooms are lovely, I rather like them better before they open. That 2nd pic is REALLY cool (sort of ghostly Hoya buds) & the 3rd is too, enjoy!

This Hoya has such interesting buds and I can't help but think they look like they were made form bone china.
Imagine the developing corona wrapped up inside the bud and eventually bursting the seams.

Pug, what great shots of the buds. They are so unusual looking. I love the third picture. Reminds me of little candy decorations on a cake. So delicate looking. The full open blooms are awesome. This hoya keeps moving up and down my 'want list'. I've just moved it back to the top of the list again.

Pug I am so excited for you to finally get see the flowers up front and in person.
I do have to say that yours differently look different then mine.

I also think those are some of the prettiest buds I have ever seen! I'm glad it made it all the way to blooming this time. I think your leaves look pretty different from mine. I can't remember whether or not you said if it was a particular clone, so I am curious.

Beautiful pics and bloom, Puglvr. One can see why they used to refer to hoyas as "wax plants". They could be in a wax museum. From reading how touchy this plant is to raise up to flowering size, I think I'll wait until such time that I have optimum conditions like a special lit up plant room full of humidity. I'm going to wait until I grow the ones I have now before biting off more than I can chew. Ha.
However...YOU sure did a great job getting it to this point.

Pirate Girl, I don't think its just you...I've come across some really pretty buds also, much prettier to me that the actual open blooms. But this one is really pretty both in bud stage and fully open. One of the prettiest I own.

Quinn, not sure what clone this is. I have a couple of different types of leaves in the same plant. I got mine from Ebay(Gardino's auction) and a cutting from a friend and potted them together.

BTW, I smelled it last night...very pleasant, reminds me of the yeast in freshly baked breads? Hard to describe, but it has a little sweet scent...I like it.

Cindy, I think its different from yours too...close but not the same. Yours is SO pretty too!
