I think since you're new to hosta-ing, getting into plugs will probably not be what you're hoping. These will be VERY small plants and it'll be several years before they've grown into anything significant.
Tokudamas are fantistic plants, but INCREDIBLY slow growing.

In the future, consider ordering from a source that will send you a 1-3 eye division from a mature plant or who has grown the plug in a greenhouse for several years and have overwintered those hosta outside in a zone equal to yours, or cooler.

I agree with the plugs, especially those that are tokudamas. I have two (didn't get them as plugs), have had them now their third growing season, and so far, though they are still emerging, they appear to be the same size as they were when I planted them. Maybe it's my fault, maybe they need more sun, but if you got plugs of these type of hosta, it'll be many moons before they grow up. But, if you have patience (I like to watch things grow from a baby to a full grown plant), then you can try them. It won't hurt. Oh, and the smaller the hosta, the more diligent you must watch over the watering, since they'll dry out quicker than a full grown hosta. I have many hosta I bought last year as plugs, and though most have increased in size so far from when I got them, it'll be several years before they are a nice, mature clump. And the larger growing ones will take longer than the small ones. I have patience, and every year will be a surprise for me to see how much bigger my babies have grown from the previous year.

I have lots in my beds to deal with atm.... and my front porch is large and kindly nekkid... what would you think about potting these plugs and adorning my front porch?

plugs can be anywhere for one inch ...INCLUDING ROOTS .... to 4 to 46 inches PLUS roots ...

the cost of those vary greatly ....

sometimes a bargain is not a bargain.. depending on how many of the tiny babes you lose, since you have no experience with such tiny stock ... nor a greenhouse to grow the smallest of smalls ...

as long as you understand the potential for loss ... and the length of time for success.. and are one who likes to fiddle around with such .. go for it ...

if you are looking for some semblance of size .. in a shorter time frame.. then spend money to buy a well grown .. good sized specimen ...

the hardest part of the small stuff.. will be the first winter ... and how you winter all those over ...

you have the variables.. you have your budget.. and all that is left.. is to have fun ...

ps: white feather MIGHT be one of those incredibly hard to grow white plants... so success may be limited no matter what size you buy .. the link below take you to where it says: Difficult. Needs enough sun to survive. .. so that is another reason buying tiny ones might make it very hard to win the battle

So the plugs came in... very nice root systems I'd say.. look very healthy and well shipped in fantastic shaped. I potted them in a moisture control potting mix while mulching the tops. Unfortunately they were all one eye divisions. Being advertised as 1-2 eye divisions, I was kinda disappointed. What would be the best way to keep them this winter. If its not too much to ask..in summarized detail..what should I do? let them go dormant outside? move them inside? how moist should I keep them?
