Hosta and Slugs

Last year I planted some hosta in a new bed. In late fall the bed was covered with leaves. I left the leaves over the winter. The hosta in my beds are just barely starting to come up. I have been uncovering the beds and composting the leaves.

As I uncovered one hosta (Paradigm), I found a huge slug wrapped around the eye. I pulled it off but it had eaten half of the eye. Most of the other hosta were untouched expect for Grand Tiara whose one eye had been eaten to the ground.

I immediately ran to the store and bought two cans of Sluggo. The beds have all been sprinkled now. My question is: Will the hosta survive? Both hosta seemed to only have one eye.
