Now it's almost over, how did your bulbs do?

Gotta read up on Fritillarias.

The only ones that came up strong and healthy were the 'Persica',

which are supposedly marginal here.

Not ONE 'Crown Imperial'. Pricey buggers, too! 3 for 17.00 I think.

Gave them wood ashes too, and food, and drainage.

Everything else was gorgeous! Except Tulipa 'Artist', pictured

as burnt orangey/green. It was a washed-out beige-gray pink.

The hardy Glad.'Byzantinus' are just starting.

And the late Alliums.

One tulip, a multi flowering, called 'Antoinette', is amazing!

Many weeks of creamy yellow slowly changing to deep blush rose.

I'm re-ordering that one, and the black peony flowering one,

'Black hero', Blacker by far than 'Queen of the night'.

Hooray for rotten egg deer spray!

I did pack them in a bit too tight.

In "Mass graves" as Lauren Springer calls them.

How were yours?

What do you plant with them? I didn't succeed with either Wallflowers

or Mysotis this year.
