Hoya Obovata or Pubicalyx Pink Silver?
Comments (10)Hi Denise, Thanks for posting a pic of your beautiful pink silver. Your Hoya is huge and really healthy. Looks like I picked the right one, not to say I won't get the other later, LOL... Like I said I have never ordered from this company before, but they have alot of different types of flowers and plants, I found them by accident while searching for pink silver hoya. I ordered it from Gardino Nursery(rareflora.com) is the website I think. I posted the link to their Hoya selection below, they also have an 800 number which is nice if you just want to ask them some questions. The lady that helped me was very nice and helpful. She said they ship their plants on Mondays, I believe they are on the SE Coast of Florida. Hope to get it by Wed. next week. By the way should I give this plant a bright location (maybe a couple hours of morning sun). Does this plant like it on the dry side or a little moist? Thanks for your help. Comments (20)Thanks Xuan! Mentha, thanks...I LOVE this one! Yes, make sure you tell your hoya to get on the ball, lol...I can't believe its blooming already. Mike, this was a rooted plant, it wasn't anywhere the size it is now, actually shortly after I received it(I had it outside under a palm tree) and lost several leaves to snails! It took a couple of months to replace them, but once it got going it grew fast! This one has the potential to get large. Gabi, no problem! This is definitely light pink. I've seen photos that looked white like yours, that's why I asked about the color. BTW, your pictures are awesome! Just gorgeous!! Thanks for the kind words and info!...See MoreHelp with Hoya Obovata
Comments (5)Pls. calm down a bit, this isn't necessarily a problem. Sometimes Hoyas grow a misshaped leaf, it happens, not a dangerous thing or sign of ill health. Just keep an eye on things. I hope there's a bit of space btwn your inner & outer pots, it looks kind of tight & I'd be concerned of water accumulating in the bottom which could lead to root rot. Best if you remove them from those pots to water & then let drain before returning them to those cache pots. I'd say from here, they look otherwise fine, good color & texture....See MoreHoya obovata is struggling with something...?
Comments (7)I have ordered online from different vendors and have had good luck. Did you get it as a cutting or planted in soil? If it still has leaves, I wouldn't give up hope, but keep it away from your other hoyas just in case. I have a kerri that I almost give up on. It lost all of its leaves except for one, but after being left alone, it is sprouting new growth. I do have it under a plant light. Sometimes just ignoring them for a little while is the ticket. Good luck and keep us posted....See Moreines_99
