My Royal Hawaiian Purple is really small and I don't know how to post the picture for you. However, I bought my cutting from New York and you can view it's photo at their site under the name 'Chimera'. If you have never visited the site before just click on 'Exotic Houseplants' from the Home Page and then you will see Hoya in that list.

Actually mine are hanging outside under a croton tree. The sprinkler 2x a week afternoon hot sunlight. Pretty much on it's on along with my orchids. I fertilize once in awhile.

I looked at the tag, the buds are on the "red button". Here is a photo of RHP plant. It is a beautiful plant with lots of speckles and new red leaves.

Oooooo...Do you need a housekeeper with lots of hoyas? Just kidding. I envy your hoyas and the amount of growth they get in such a short period of time compared to my region, it's just incredible. Do you every worry about it being to windy for your hoyas outside?

Shanna, I would love to have a house keeper with lots of hoyas. Come on down. :) The only time I worry is during hurricane season and few cold spells in winter. The hoyas are pretty tough but I have some huge rope hoyas on my Grapefruit tree, they did get scratched some. But they are flowering like mad hoyas. hehe

Thank you very much for posting those lovely pictures. I just LOVE the color of the new leaves. I can't wait to get that plant. Hopefully I will see new growths on mine, sooner than later. I hope mine grows fast like yours do. I'm hoping since are zones are very close. That plant is just beautiful, thanks again...Post when the blooms open!

Jan, I dare say, that must be the prettiest Hoya I've ever seen! That one is going on my want list for sure. Puglvr where are you buying yours from---is it an online source, or bring in FL, do you just get to drive down the street and find all sorts of beautiful plants? ;)

I have RHP that I got as a cutting in a trade in '06 and it doesn't have those wonderful silver splashes. Rats! I do love mine, though, for the beautiful new leaves. But as so many of you know, I'm a sucker for the heavy silver flecking in some of the clones. Now I have to watch for ANOTHER one!!

Hi Shiver,

I wish I can just drive down the road and buy hoyas. Hoyas here are far and few between. I live in a fairly small town and none of my nurseries sell them. Only the big box stores occasionally have them and they get in the same ones on the rare times they get them. So yes, I have to order mine on line, if I want different ones than what the big box stores carry. I hate paying for shipping charges, unless its one I really like.

Actually I'm a lightweight compared to most on here, I only have a very small collection. I also have a thing for hoya leaves with a lot of fleckings and splashes. But I especially love the red leaves on the new growth.
