I just realized I have 5 new ones that never bloomed this year and don't even see the tags, so I guess those will be surprises, too.

I figgured my timing for moving things was good as we will be getting rain for sure. If not tomorrow evening then Tuesday and/or Wednesday. Acording to the weather, chances of rain increase each day that goes by.

So after I moved those two, I went out and moved two more daylilies that I knew I needed to move. So they can all get watered whenever the rain comes.

So I will have even more Davisson Seedlings than I though as I did buy some this Fall. I don't know how I could have forgotten I had that Davisson seedling as I must have wanted it and should have been looking forward to it blooming.

I know I was adjusting my photos after getting rid of some flowers and ran across one I really don't remember seeing bloom the last couple years. I'd forgotten all about it. I need to go look around the yard to see if it even exists yet. I know I lost a few smaller plants to squirrels.

We have had a 80% chance for showers and thunderstorms Yesterday,, last night, and today, and its done nothing but a little mist.Bareley wet the bottom of the rain gauge.Its made the grass wet,and sidewalk wet, but thats all its done,and I was really counting on a good rain.BUT, at least it was cloudy today with a lower temp...It does look like most of the east coast may be getting more rain.

I thought I saw on The Weather Channel that all of Alabama was covered in rain from TS Lee. It is supposed to be coming up north to northeast.

Good grief, Rita, and you have so few plants! How could you have missed one? Hah! As to the Alabama rain, WC overstated the amount of rain we are currently getting. Local weather says tomorrow should be a big rain day, but you remember that doughnut hole I live in where the rain can fall all around and I miss it. I have had a little, but not a lot yet. Here's hoping.

I'm shocked Rita! I know that has happened to me quite often. Not MY fault you understand, those dratted garden gnomes are always pulling tricks on me :)
I hope those who need the rain get it today. They had predicted rain for us starting Saturday night. Didn't arrive til after dark Sunday night, but I gather we've gotten over 2" since it started & lots more expected. I'm hoping it doesn't rain all day, my kids are visiting for the weekend, I would love to spend a little time outside. Lots cooler today. We went from 100 degrees Saturday to 85 Sunday, & under 75 expected today. Cool weather expected this week, I'll be getting lots of yard work done I hope.

Kay, I do hope you get all the rain you need and that Jean does too. As to the daylilies, I have so many of them that sometimes I am surprised that I can remember even most of them hee-hee. But when they bloom they remind me of old friends that you see year after year and are always glad to see their faces.

Nancy, in my case I can't blame it on the Garden Gnomes but I am blaming it on the weeds that obscured the tag. Doesn't that seem like a reasonable excuse LOL !? I will not have any problems with it next year as it is now in a great spot in my front yard late bloomers row.

I still have lots of yard work left to do myself. Lots of gardenbeds still to be mulched.

Well as usual we are in the dry or relatively dry hole of the donut. We have actually gotten an inch or so, but the 5"prediction will fall sadly short. I am very grateful to get rain period.

It is funny to watch on the radar as the split and go around theis little area. Hopefully, we may wind up with a couple of inches. It is only med seventies which is wonderful.

First - thanks for writing up your list of "shovel pruned" daylilies. I will try to write up a list of those leaving here also and the reasons. Totally agree that this is an individual/ individual garden performance issue. Some that are leaving here are likely some that others love but that's how it is.
Not only have I found daylilies that I'd forgotten about but I've sometimes bid on/ won at auction or ordered plants that I already have! Ugh. Took that as a signal I had too many to keep up with.

We are also getting much needed rain. It's about time!

I did order one once that I already had. Each time I really thought it was so beautiful I really wanted it. Can't remember what it was right now as I no longer have it. Both clumps left the garden quite some time ago.

Oh dear, I'd better get busy and tell you all that you are
not alone in buying duplicate plants. I also, dig up a
clump in my garden and then don't know what to do with the
extra plants. Well, I'm pretty good at finding new places
and somehow the tags go missing-----woe is me. I do have
some mighty pretty ones with no ID on them but they are too
nice to part with.

This is funny :) I guess my garden is smaller so I don't do doubles, but I do have these odd spurts of buying a bunch of plants all with the same colors and form, basically, and sometimes when they all bloom with similar color I think, "Well, I must have been in the mood for peach and Ruffles last fall"

Well,I got out today in one of my little Jungle Gardens and pulled all the weeds out and all but one marigold plant, and found one of my markers on a daylily had faded so bad,I do not know which daylily it is.maybe I can figure it out later, or at least by next spring.It was so nice outside today, with temps in the upper 70's.Was windy and I usually get bad headaches and ear aches if I stay out in the wind very long, but, so far only have a slight headache.Its the first time I have been able to stay outside for most of the day, for a very long time,and I really injoyed being out..I watered the bed real good after I got the weeds out, then after the plants was dry,I sprayed everything with a stinky stuff to keep the deer from eating up everything.Theres 4 rose bushes in the bed,and they had already stripped all the new leaves on them, and ate the center out of 4 or 5 daylilies.This spray should keep them away from them for several weeks,or until it rains and washed it off, but, weather channel is not showing us to get any rain at least for the next 8 days.:(

Jean, I was going to ask you if you got rain. I can't belive with all that rain they showed on weather channel these past few days you could be so unlucky that it passed you by :-( Bummer for sure, I am really sorry.

One way to ID flowers when they bloom next year is too look thru your pictures for ones in that bed which look the same. It often works.
