Withering Hoya Compacta

Hello

I have a 25-year-old Hoya Compacta that has about ten five-foot vines. A year ago the leaves on one of the vines started to wither, looking like they normally do if I don't water it for a while. But it was just that vine, the rest of the plant looked normal. I expected the vine to die but it has continued in that state, with none of the leaves yellowing or dropping off. Recently I've noticed this withering in a second vine. I'm guessing I need to repot it, it's only been repotted once and that was about 17 years ago. I've resisted repotting because it's always been healthy and flowers regularly, even since I noticed the first vine withering. And I'm a big chicken when it comes to repotting large plants. Could this be normal for a plant this size and age? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mike
