Hi Enjoying, Hasn't happened to me, but I've had friends who had holiday cactus (Thanksgiving or Xmas) that bloomed 2 even 3 times a year. She used to refer to them as perverts, teasing that they must be having sex all the time to be blooming so often. Enjoy. I've suspected that it's when conditions are particularly suited to them, that they have all they need to re-bloom.

Thanks Maid :) I never slowed down on watering mine, and it didnt hurt it. Since I have gotten it I always water once a week. I also used MG right before it got buds and it didnt hurt it at all. I used the granulated that you put in water though. Since it didnt seem to have any neg effects the first time I just did it again yesterday. Another thing I did that I didnt know I wasnt supposed to, lol..was that I moved it around alot. Changed spots a few times, was turning it for equal light on all sides in front of the window. I didnt get any bud loss. The only prob I have had is that my cat keeps pulling off buds now as they form. Every day I see new buds, and the lil b****** pops em off. The ones he cant get to are still blooming nicely. He's even been tearing pieces of segments off..must not taste good cuz he just leaves them on the counter like the buds. So why in the world does he keep doing it? lol. dumb cat. It is very exciting isnt it? I think yoursd will be fine and bloom nicely. Just the way the DNA is programmed. I can't remember if I've ever gotten double blooms with my Thanksgiving Cactus, I want to say once But I'm not certain (and if it happened it was not much farther apart than Thanksgiving and Christmas, not your Fall and Spring scenario)

Post a pic or two. Most likely it's in bad potting soil. These plants grow in the crooks of trees, so their roots are well-adapted to growing in a loose, bark-based mix (much like Orchid Mix). In nature, they receive frequent rains, but the water flows through the bark and leaf-litter and the roots don't sit very long in the water. These plants are jungle cacti, not dry land cacti, so they must be watered much more often. Purple coloration isn't a problem necessarily. Typically it indicates that the plant is receiving strong sun. But, in this case, it *could* be caused by drought-stress (not enough moisture, or dead roots).
