cook books big on herbs

"The San Francisco Chronicle" cook book has a lot of unusual recipes using herbs, such as a Rosemary Polenta Pound Cake, Sorrel and Potato Soup, Spicy Pumpkin Soup. The recipes are generally noveau cousine style. It isn't my favorite style of cooking, but I get good ideas in reading through the recipes.

Judith Ben Hurley's book, "The Good Herb" (1995) may be of interest to some folks. I like this book a lot. She discusses using foods/herbs for healing. There are recipes such as Fresh Mushroom Spread with Tarragon, Whole Roasted Shallots with Fresh Thyme, Fresh Thyme Mustard with Vermouth.

She mentions fresh tarragon as being good for high blood pressure. I should get out and harvest some of my tarragon! I made the mistake of sticking that herb in a flower garden, so I tend to forget that I have it.
