Embarrassing to say...
Comments (27)Patty, when I think of you, I do not envision masses of Bermuda Grass. They are an inadequate ornament, a sub-par backdrop for a woman like you. They don't have your color, your warmth, your splendor as a person. Nope, I'm sorry to tell you but you need roses to be viewed in the proper setting. You with a garden of grass would be like a rare blue diamond set in aluminum. I know it is miserable, I'm so sorry it happened to you but I want you to get somebody to prune back those babies, pull out the timber, clear it away and just let the small bushes rest and grow. In six monthes when they are coming back you may be ready for them. People often look at my garden and say, so much work and I say it is what I love. My garden was only Bermuda grass when I moved here, bare and unfriendly. At one point the mailman said to me "your garden is so beautiful and because of it, the whole neighborhood is better." That is our gift, Patricia, to make the world more beautiful. Not everyone can. Whether you get two talents or ten, what you do with them is up to you. You got it girl. Despair and doubt are no friends of yours, don't you listen. love, la...See Moreis my mint dying?! please help!
Comments (2)Looks like definate Mint Rust.... They only thing I can say to do would be to cut everything of to the base of the plant to get rid of any infected leaves (which looks like the entire plant)and any that have fallen on the soil. remove an " or so of potting soil and replenish. The mint will come back. I can't tell what "mint" you have but it probably won't die outdoors, just go dormant until spring. Vera...See MoreAn embarrassment of riches
Comments (7)CSA is Community Supported Agriculture. Anyone can buy a piece of the yearly farm crop. Some places will do a full share and half share. Once a week you get your produce - you don't really know what might be there because it is often picked just the day before. Some CSA operations are certified organic and others are not. If there is a farmer's market in your area, ask some of the vendors for some names. They should be able to provide at least one, for they generally like the idea of keeping the money in the community and supporting a local producer. We sometimes get more than we need/want/can eat, and so I donate this extra to one of the employees where I used to work. I know that she will use it for her good health! Our season generally goes from mid-May until late October. We learned to be 'creative' with some of the items we get....See MorePlants keep dying from root rot?
Comments (5)That is probably your problem, a plant left in a cold car for even 5 minutes can cause significant damage. If the plant was not packed with a heat pack then it definitely got damage on the trip. It is nobody's fault but the seller should probably not be shipping this time of year, especially if the plant was grown in a greenhouse. They should also have unpotted the plant and shipped it bare root if you live in Texas. Some states are very strict about soil crossing their borders, Texas is one of them. Side note: That's why I try to always carry a styrofoam box in my car for all of those cart jumpers I seem to find at 40 degrees outside with 10 other places still to go....See Morekea2
