Welcome to Garden Web! I thought you might like to know that there is no way to email you they way your preferences are set. I suggest you go to the bottom of any page here and click on 'Member Pages'. then Edit Preferences. Then using the drop down box, set it to show your email addy to Members only. then check the box to allow others to email you via the forms here at GW. That will place a link on your member page so folks can reach you. You might also want to (while you are there) fill in your gardening zone, and your state abbreviation. I for one (and some others too)prefer to trade some things with members that are a few hundred miles or less away, as opposed to 1000 to 2000 miles away. Often if I can't tell where someone is located, I just don't reply to threads started by traders, rather than decline trading later. Happy gardening and trading! Sue

Noticed that you have received no replies to this. I am the owner of a genuine French Tarragon plant and would be willing to trade for the sage seedlings if you're still interested. You're right to want this plant as it is divine in cooking! You'd have to let me know in advance though as I would have to prepare the cutting for you. If anyone else wants some and has herbs to trade feel free to send me a message and I'll start the cuttings.

End-of-the-Season clearance sales are how I have added many perennial plants to my gardens. You take chances on them making the winter but you can afford the gamble at a fraction of the original prices! If you are having problems finding a good source for real french tarragon locally, I might suggest mail-order from one of the reputable herb places like Richters, Horizon Herbs, or Nichols Nursery. When I harvest french tarragon I only like to harvest young shoots that are no longer than 6" or so because I think they have a better flavor. I only use tarragon for homemade salad dressings so I don't use a lot at one time and the plant I harvest from is rather large. I'll cut back a third of the plant to about 4" from the ground throughout the year to encourage new shoots. For parsley I dry alot through out the season so I will cut the stems from the outside of the plant (at the base of the plant) leaving the center young leaves for fresh use and regrowth.
