Hi Daniel, I don't know the answer to your second question. I do know that sometimes a hybridizer will sell an unusual, and unnamed hosta and let the person who buys it do the naming. Usually these go for big bucks because another green upright with a yellow margin would not cause much in the way of interest unless it had some other remarkable feature such as ruffling, pleating, twisting, wildly colored petioles, etc. Last year, a friend, gave me a hybrid he had made that is the brightest and most long-lasting, neon yellow I have ever seen. I named it Neon Jellybean. It only costs a few dollars to register the name, but you have to provide the parentage and that can be tricky if you're not the hybridizer. The truth is, you can plant a thousand seeds and only one or two may have characteristics that are worth reproducing. Good luck, whatever you decide to do. Lainey
