Hot...Hot..Hot...Help!

This might be a silly question. The heat has played havoc on my day lilies. Most of the leaves have turned yellow and brown. Is it O.K. to pull these leaves off. They really look terrible. They are just about done blooming (Boo!) and I do not want to do more damage. I hope someone can tell me what to do. Thanks to all. Lesley

Some daylilies have that character and some don't. When the leaves are brown and crispy I pull them off. If they are yellow you may want to wait till they turn brown. I don't think it will hurt the plant though if you do decide to pull them off. As long as there are plenty of green ones left. Daylilies are pretty hardy.

Pull them off or cut and make things more tidy. The daylilies will recover when the temps get more resonable.
