I have been looking into Chenopodium quinoa ( incan goosefoot ) it is supposedly a very balanced grain , its a member of the goosefoot family ( like your common pigweed, looks similar too from what google showed . ) I havent seen seeds forsale to grow this , but Quinoa is avalible at most healthfood stores in my area, in bulk , the seeds ( for food ) I am wondering if these would be viable , also curious , I have pigweed here, or goosefoot not sure , In western washington , it pops up everywhere that I disturb the soil , looks quite similar to this , are all goosefoot seeds edible ? and if I planted the Quinoa would it end up hybredizing with the local goosefoot ? ( I believe what I have here is the ' common ' pigweed . would be interested to know , and if anyone has grown this cereal , and has any information at all about how it might do in the pacific northwest, I would be very interested ! - Adam
