Tiny red bugs?
Comments (13)Going from the description I see these at work all the time on cement. Very tiny and wouldn't be seen at all if they didn't move. Never saw them in my gardens, but only on cement at work. Don't know what they are, how to control them or even if they need to be controlled. My general rule of thumb is 'do nothing unless a plant looks like it needs help'. Bugs on plants are normal and if the plant is not suffering there is no need to kill the bugs, whatever they may be....See MoreTiny little bugs on a Jalapeno seedling
Comments (7)They could be Aphids, I had bought some seedlings from a nursery a couple years back when my Jals did nothing and a few days after sitting the new seedlings with my others I noticed something odd and on closer inspection the newly acquired plants were crawling with greenish brown bugs. The leaves literally looked like they were bubbling. I quickly grabbed those plants and moved them to my garage to get them away from the other healthy plants. The Aphids had made their way to some of the surrounding plants which I then dusted them with seven. They have a couple forms the ones crawling on the plants, and the mature ones who have wings and fly. I saw some of what I thought were gnats at first but realized they were aphids. Indoors they have no natural enemies except for us. They can be difficult to eliminate because they lay eggs. With them it's more a matter of control rather than elimination, easier done once outside. An interesting thing about them is ants will herd, protect, and milk them like cattle. The aphids suck nutrients from the plants and are harmful....See MoreLittle red bugs eating my leaves!
Comments (2)Agree that you have a more serious problems than the few aphids I see. They aren't causing your problem. Google Septoria Leaf Spot. It is a fungal disease of tomatoes. Strip off the affected foliage and begin a regular fungicide spraying program. Dave...See MoreSucculent Pest ID - tiny black scattering bugs killing plants
Comments (4)They are a species of Hemiptera. I am not familiar with that one. They cause a lot of damage to plants. They are clumsy so you can spray them off with water. The nymphs I think will have a hard time climbing all the way back up. The adults will be right back unfortunately....See MoreLindsey Scott
