Need I.D. of Very Pale Pink Double Rose of Sharon?

I never cared much for Rose of Sharon (sorry!!) until I saw this one in a neighborhood . I fell in love with it! It seems to have double blooms and is a very, very pale pink. Anyone know what it is called? The closest thing I haave found online that looks like it is called 'Paeoneflorum' (Hibiscus syriacus). Thanx for any info !!!

I don't know the name either but I think it is the same one I am looking for. someone her on the gw has a picture of it, and I fell in love with it. i have it saved on my comp but I don't know how to post pictures. I sure would love to know the name of myself and would love cuttings or a link to a place where I can order it. thanks, flora

Have you ruled out Hibiscus syriacus 'Blushing Bride'?

I have Mustead Wood. It throws out octopus canes whichever way, and depending on wherever you want to place it, the growth habit might or might not work for you. The flowers are dark, purplish rose red, very double, very fragrant, very, very, beautiful, but they fry in summer heat. Mine also seems to need lots of water to bloom well. Darcell Bushell is similar to MW (less double flowers, less intense color, only light fragrance), but the growth habit seems to be more uprigth, it repeats better and, IMHO, the foliage is better than MS.

My CF bloomed every spring and every fall. Always covered in white fly. wood is very soft and breaks easily so here on the coast, always broken limbs. It is a short-lived, small tree. Maximum height 10-12`. Full sun, easy from seeds or cuttings. Can be cut back to ground as desired. Starts white ends up pink, white, pink and double varieties available. Also prone to mealy bugs and root rot. Hybrids less hardy. NOT salt tolerant! Lost to Ike. Rose of Sharon, much smaller, longer lived, shorter. Easy from cuttings or seeds. In the south prefers more shade, even full shade but will thrive and bloom in full sun if enough water. Full sun in the north, they live in Delaware. More choices in colors, red, pink, white, purple, w/eye, double varieties. Mealy bugs can be a problem. Tally HO!

Thanks so much for the offer Pepa. I really appreciate it, but let's wait and see if I can get a start from someone around San Antonio. Tammy, I moved the mother plant this last spring. It put out new leaves and did fine for awhile and then died. It probably did not get the constant supply of water that it needed to get it through the summer. They root very easily. Last year about this time I stuck a bunch of cuttings in a glass of water. All of them put out roots where every little dot on the stem was and almost all of them survived when transferred to a potting medium and set outside under a sheet of clear plastic. I covered them with a quilt when a freeze was predicted. Then I gave them all away since I had the mother plant. Tammy, try sticking some stems of whatever is still alive above ground in water and see what happens. Thank you!

Well, the mystery is solved! The Rose of Sharon I saw is definitely "Blushing Bride". I didn't think so at first because the photo on a nursery website was too dark pink, but subsequent photos emailed by you nice people have convinced me it is indeed "Blushing Bride". Thanks to everyone for their help!!!!
