My first blooms of the summer!

Today my Hibiscus bloomed!

Looks fantastic and beautiful, I know tomorrow I will have tons of blooms.

It is about 6ft tall and 6ft wide!

Reines has bloomed! :) It smells so wonderful! Ingrid, I have 2 antiques and then an Easy Does It, Strike it Rich, 2 knock outs and a tea rose. First year they're all in the ground so it's taking longer for them to bloom but so much fun coming home each day and seeing what treat my garden has in store. :)

Thanks Kirk and Averil, As for not moving the plants, I feel that when a plant orientates its leaves towards the direction of the sunlight it is because it is getting the maximum benefit, seems logical, so if they are moved they will lose that benefit and suffer a setback. This probably won't be so important in many regions but here we need to take advantage. Just my thoughts. Britta, It is a grafted plant named Miss Venezuela, raised by David Clulow. I have placed plants outdoors for short periods many years ago, but mostly to try to control Red Spider Mites. The plants did not produce any growth and just looked unhappy although they survived the experience, and so did the RSM . I would never do so again. IMO they belong behind glass where we live. I have them planted outside. Long story short, He grows them. He has sold them to Libbys and other places. It is time for him to be dropping by. I will get phone number for you if he has any. Here is another: Russian Sage Plants – How To Grow And Care For Russian Sage - ""While allowing the stems and seed pods to remain in the garden until spring creates winter interest, if you prefer a tidier appearance, you can cut the stems back to a foot above the ground. Spring and summer care for Russian sage consists mainly of pruning. When new spring growth emerges, cut the old stems back to just above the lowest set of leaves. If the plant begins to spread open or sprawl in late spring or summer, shear off the top one-third of the stems to encourage upright growth. Remove the top half of the stems if the plant stops blooming in summer. This encourages new growth and a fresh flush of flowers."

I really do not know the name. My mom gave to me 2 years ago, and she didnt even know the name, it is now 3 years old. She always called it Dinner Plate...lol

I wish I knew someone that could look at it and tell me. We measured the blooms they are 14 inches across. I also had my hubby measure the bush. It is 7ft tall and wide. I was just off by a foot. I should have had him stand by it, he is 6'1.

It is starting to grow again!. wow cant wait . Now I need to get some starts. Does anyone know If I can cut this plant in half and replant??

I do have a few starts I pulled a few weeks ago thriving in the ground.

I would not know how to even ship the starts. It is now about 8 inches to a foot tall. When it just starts to sprout shoots off the old wood in the spring, I carefully take a dry shoot with the new start and just plant in the ground. I have about 6 new ones in the ground now. I am so afraid to actually cut this plant in half , but my mom said it will not hurt it acutally it would love it. Im trying to figure out how to post the new picts on here .
