You didn't ask this :) but I just want to pass on this tidbit for people with pets. Tulips are poisonous. Just *how* poisonous I don't know, but I learned this when the owner of where I lived pulled up all his tulip bulbs, threw them over the fence to an area my horses could get to. I did a quick look on the Web and then went out to grab them up and put them in the garbage. I also had, at the time, one dog that would pretty much eat any thing---- and that worried me also. So, just in case.......

you can 'force' them for easter ... google it all.. but generally.. figure out a cold treatment.. fridge or garage.. for the requisite period.. pot them.. either before or after .. depending on if you have room in the fridge for a pot ... and then bring them into the warm ... very fun ... english gardens might be able to tell you off hand.. thats were i used to get my forcing bulbs.. and while you are at it.. you might want to cut a few forsythia in a few weeks.. to force bloom indoors .. ken

I am going to have to educate myself on weather zones. Here, we just go by terms, such as cold temperate (where I am) temperate, sub-tropical and tropical. So much easier. BUT, until I do, do you have a cold winter? Keep watering your tulips until they really look like they won't want any more. And if you have some fertiliser, you can add that too. (Any old thing.) During the summer they want to be dry, out of the sun. If they do not get this summer dryness they can rot. Come the Autumn you can have a look at them. They will probably have become small bulbs rather than the two big ones they were, when they bore your flowers. You can pot them into fresh potting mix or plant in the garden about 4 inches deep. They want a sunny, well-drained site. They will gradually grow to flowering size again. Good luck.
