We planted a new Rose of Sharon bush last summer. It's pretty hot and dry here in Dodge City, KS and these bushes thrive here. Ours seems to be thriving this summer as well (has DOUBLED in size since last summer!).
However, it's not flowering as profusely as I expected it to. My husband and I are finding some buds are yellowing and are easily broken off (or they fall off in this high KS wind). Each bloom that is yellow has a perfectly round, really tiny hole near the base. Is this from a bug of some kind? Will sevin dust take care of it? The flowers that do manage to bloom do NOT have this little bitty hole. I can find no bugs on my ROS and am at a loss as to what this is...can anyone help?
