ROCKET BLAST FFO. I got this one on one of the Maryotts special promo deals last year. It is a very vivid color.

CAMEO LUSTER one of my Maryott intros. It just looks so soft and luminous in person. Needs to be seen in the garden as it is so lovely.

KWANZA GOLD, another of my Maryott intros, just started blooming.

BUBBLES GALORE, another Maryott intro.

I am beginning to sound like an add for Maryott daylilies but I do really love his intros and I got many of them as bonus plants last year.

SO MANY STARS just started blooming.

STARDUST LADY FFO, New for me from Brian Culver.

LADY BANDIT. Also from Brian Culver. Not a great shot as the color washed out.

One Two Kangaroo on the left from Melanie Mason.

MARILYN SIWIK FFO

Last but not least this lovely clump of ELEGANT CANDY was blooming up on the plateau and I could not pass it up. Thats RED EYE GRAVEY in the backround.

Wonderful shots! I think Elegant Candy with multiple blooms is my favorite of these. Your Maryotts all look great!

Gorgeous pictures - clear and vibrant. You have so many recent new ones and it is such a pleasure seeing them grow in your garden. I would love to see Cameo Luster in person - its picture is wonderful. I love its form and color. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Julia, it is a wine purple, not pink...what can I say...the sun does not help. Debra, the zinnias were from seed. Please say yes had thrip damage to start with, but seems okay now. I wish you had rebloom too, Rita. I had a little taste of how hard it is in cooler climates when we had that very cool snap at the beginning of daylily season and so many didn't want to open. whooping cough has made a huge comeback and this is a lesson for everyone on how herd protection actually does work! if only 2% of the population doesn't vaccinate then we are all generally protected from mass outbreaks but when vaccine rates drop much under 90% holes start popping up as outbreaks. so far 55,000 cases of whooping cough have come up this yr, numbers the CDC reported not seen since the 50's :-0 i got it in early june when on vacation and it had to run it's course for 2 months of coughing sooo hard you are neary throwing up plus the gasping for air like you are having an asthma attack is fun too lol. took my co-worker weeks to adjust to the fact i wasn't having a bad asthma attack :-( even thou i have extensive microbiology knowledge i did not know i needed a booster for whooping cough every 10 yrs, usually given combo w/ tetanus. my dh got a slight case but overcame it after a month then got the booster. i often get a flu shot, had not thought about it for this yr yet. i sat out last yrs H1N1, letting my non-scientific DH talk me out of it when normally i don't listen to opinions w/o credentials lol. i think after reading the responses thou i will get the shot this yr and make my DH too. we are travelling w/ my 5 yr old niece & nephew for both thanksgiving and christmas. my nephew has lung problems left from being a premie and i'd hate to make him sick plus we got sick from them (started as bronchitus) while on vacation w/ them in june LOL... come to think of it, we will definitely got shots! ~ liz

One work-around I've found for that, Marlorena, is to back up and take the shot from a further distance. The camera will likely get all items in focus, doing that. Then you can take advantage of the great resolution the camera has by cropping and enlarging that portion of the photo, so it is like a close-up. Another trick is to experiment with the plane of the shot. By slightly depressing the shutter button, the camera will show you which areas are in focus in the field of view by surrounding those with green rectangles. If you tilt the camera slightly or shift it to a slightly different view, you will often find you can bring more of a view into focus by doing that kind of adjustment.

Rita, I love Maryott's intro ( except Maybeline Eyes ). He is such a nice person to do business with too!! Your pics are lovely. Love the honeysuckle. Is it Pink Lemonade? Elegant Candy is still blooming here. She is blooming her fool head off. Your photo of her is exceptional.. Thanks for sharing your lovelies...Ellie

My favorite of this group is So Many Stars. I just planted mine recently, and am looking forward to seeing it bloom.

Your daylilies are lovely, Rita. I love 'Rocket Blast,' it must really shout across the garden. 'So Many Stars' is great, too - I'm running out of adjectives to apply to all the glorious flowers that have been posted lately, lol!

Sometimes a daylily is just begging to be photographed. ELEGANT CANDY always looks good here but yesterday it just outdid itself.
