How do I stop critters from eating my bulbs?
Comments (0)I planted a bunch of really pretty tulips last fall and I think it's a mole or vole came along underground and ate all but two of them. UGH. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?...See Morecritters eating my squash /melons/strawberries / tomatoes ?
Comments (5)Thank you all for the comments. I had the squash on my counter so i could take it with me to the garden center to get help there but i won't have time until the weekend so i threw it out w/trash .... It was pretty big (10 inches ) i tried to take good pictures - it looked like something with sharp fangs or claws. - maybe one critter started eating and another came behind to get their dinner!? I did put out some snap traps a couple weeks ago - inside a milk carton so birds and friendly creatures wouldn't get hurt - and both traps were tripped by morning with no critters but the apples were gone..... That method didn't seem to work well for me and i just don't want to hurt the wrong ones. Thanks again for all the helpful suggestions! I will try the netting over new growth as recommended- THANK YOU!...See MoreWould you eat produce in your garden you knew critters touched
Comments (51)Thank you. This skunk sprayed my dog and they were around tomatoes!! What a nightmare! I searched for answers everywhere and there's no information about it. The tomatoes don't smell like skunk but I'm still leery on whether they're edible. I went and got another plant. Lol, others are gone. It's just a shame because it's my first time growing anything and I was proud of them. Crazy skunk snuck right between my fence and the house to get in....See Morehow do I kill the critters eating my roots
Comments (1)Spray castor oil mixed with a little Dawn and some water. That's all it takes. I actually buy a product from Garden's Alive that is for moles, but it repels the voles too. don't wait. they multiply incredibly fast. Good luck to you. (drug store vriety castor oil works just fine, by the way). kay...See Moremaifleur01
