Aren't honey bees supposed to pollinate coffee?

Aloha,

I always thought honey bees pollinated coffee. In the back yard are a couple dozen coffee trees and two groups of bees (can they be called "hives" if one batch lives in a footlocker and the other bunch lives in a tree?) Anyway, the coffee trees were flowering a couple weeks ago and the only things out there I saw pollinating the flowers were some really tiny flies of some sort (not honeybees) with transparent wings and slender bodies and those big black bumbling wood bees. Not a honey bee in sight! Anyone know what's up with that?

Just wondering,

Cathy
