Have & Want / TRADE Culinary & Tea Herbs
Comments (0)I have Oregano, Rosemary, Parsley, and Sweet Basil seeds available. The seeds I want are Thyme, Lavender, German Chamomile, Catnip, Lemongrass, Lemon Verbena/Vervain, Broom, Juniper Berry, Hyssop, Giner, Rose Hip, Peppermint, Chocolate Mint, Pineapple Mint, Grapefruit Mint, or any other kind of mint you may have. I have a young Orange Mint and Spearmint Plant. I will be trying to propogate these with cuttings so might could spare a few in trade for other cuttings or seeds. Likewise I would happily trade cuttings off the sweet basil as well. The other plants I have are not mature enough yet to take cuttings from....See Morestarting herbs from seed in pots
Comments (3)I would not suggest starting Rosemary or Oregano from seed. You may be able to find someone in your area that could give you a cutting or plants. It is suggested that herbs should be fall planted for our area but then not not all annuals, such as Basil or dill. Mint needs to be by itself as it as well as Oregano love to wander. Some Sages are annuals, bi-annuals but some will last for many many years once established. Bay trees do okay in our area. Lemongrass does not like a freeze but here if we expect cold weather we can take cuttings and store in our ref's for save keeping for when our weather warms back up for the summer....See MoreCulinary Herb Plants
Comments (1)If it says organic, it should be GMO free. Don't forget that GMO's are only in certain foods and certain plants at this time, mainly soy beans, rice and corn and anything that consumes it. Sure if those were composted and the plants planted in that compost, they COULD (but I don't know how it would effect them) take that up. It is my understanding that the IMFlowers company works hard for organic non-GMO plants. That is what Wholefoods sells. I bought organic Rosemary plants from Bonnies plants at Lowes. They came in nice paper containers however, they don't even feature the cultivar name on them which is disappointing....See MoreHAVE: Culinary herbs
Comments (7)Hi Betz, me and my daughter ,4 kitties too, have been trying to get more herbs after relocating to Houston (due to Katrina and Rita)and bought 3 kinds of basil, but with the weather turning colder we thought of buying some largest herb plants (wish we did when we went to the herb society's sale) and drying them, especially basil, oregano and rosemary, love using them in cooking. So if you haven't thought about drying your herbs, wondering if you'd consider doing it, I'd love to trade seeds for dried herbs, if you are interested plmk? GB...See Morenoinwi
