Tuesday Pictures

These pictures were all taken yesterday. Then I went out late yesterday afternoon, took more pictures and took pictures this morning before it rained. Those are still in the camera and not even downloaded. So I have to post catch up pictures from yesterday LOL!

I really think your Amber Finale looks a lot like mine. It usually doesn't recurve here. It just has more melon highlights. Angel's Realm is really pretty!

Both of those Westbournes are very pretty! I like Angel's Realm a lot too. I've been wanting to add Charlie's Dream to my garden, but the price is still pretty high on that one.

Rita, isn't that so bizarre? I can't imagine how the posts would get so messed up. It's almost like my post was pasted on top of your's. Did you contact the website? Debra, I think Angel In Disguise is just so different from my other daylilies. Maybe it will grow on me. Contact me this fall. I'll probably have enough to send you if you want some. I have another daylily with pinching (I think). It's called Girls Night Out. I'll post a picture of that one later this week and you can tell me if it is the same type. Kay, pinks have always been my favorites as well. I have many, many daylilies that I bought in the beginning because they were registered as pink. Was I disappointed. Now I either buy ones I see in person or from pictures posted here on the forum. I've had much more success that way. I knocked a petal off the other day too. lol Wesley's Masterpiece seems to be rather hard to find. It yelled at me everytime I visited a local garden last year. I finally brought him home. So glad I did. It is much prettier in person than in my pictures. If anyone wants one, I could pick it up as they're not shipping right now. Just let me know. Michelle

Beautiful Edgings is such a good color even without the edging. We will all miss your Wonder of It All. It's certainly done a good job for you even with the heat. I like your picture of the colors on Lavender Cascade, especially the "lavender" on the ruffles. How Beautiful Heaven Must Be has not only an inspiring name but a lovely bloom. Linda- I don't have Charlies Dream but I have afew others. I got my Reckamps on the lily auction so look there in the fall.

Debra- My Amber Finale pretty much always looks like the picture today. Pretty plain, oh well.

Very nice, Rita. How do the Westbournes do for you? Do they compare favorably to other cultivars? I had two, but I never got to see one of them bloom before it croaked. The other is doing so-so.

Your Westbournes seem to be doing well for you. Hope mine make it through the winter. Very small still.

Great blooms Rita, I only have two noids still blooming and they bloom all summer. And Lemon Crinkles is still putting out blooms, other than that the daylilies are finished in our heat, hoping for a few reblooms when things cool down some.

I hope everyone gets lots of rebloom this year, both in the north and the south.

The Westbournes are favorites of mine, I just keep buying more Westbourne intros. I have over 40 of them. What I have found is that most are slow to get started and take 2 years to start to show their stuff. Branching and budcount increase dramaticly by year three. I can't believe the difference. The colors on the blooms are fabulous. Many are rebloomers (not all so check each listing). Most clump up slowly for me although there are exceptions. I would never be without them.

I am now into the late bloomers blooming. The regular daylilies are just about bloomed out with only some here or there and most on empty scapes. The plateau in the back is just about done but the slope at the side of the driveway is in better shape. As is the front. But the other side of the driveway is bloomed out. Very dissaponting as it all happened so early and the bloom period seemed so compressed. The excessve heat and no rain for 6 weeks just didn't help :-((
