Unusual, evergreen groundcovers you grow...

I'm starting a new garden area. It's between the sidewalk and road, and plants will not recieve a lot of extra moisture. Although I've ammended the area with huge amounts of well composted manure and fine pine bark chunks, it will still be very clay-like for several years to come. There's only so much one can do at once!! Full, hot sun all day long!!

What I need are a few suggestions of unusual evergreen groundcovers. I need to make sure that there is greenery there all year 'round to remind folks not to walk on it. The flower colors are pink, pale buttery yellow and lilac purple. I'd love to try and find some sort of groundcover I have not used in other parts of the garden.

THANKS!
