A Few Monday Pictures

There is just about nothing left blooming here. This is when I really start to hope that we will get a rebloom season but of course it is too early to tell and no way to know but to wait.

We have been having rain overnight the past three nights and then it clears up in the day. Today is nice and sunny again but the ground is wet so the daylilies should be happy.

SUMMER RE-RUN. This is the first flower on its first rebloom scape.

Same thing on ELEGANT CANDY. Rebloom here.

Last flower on FIERY MOMENT

This last Flower on CHOCOLATE CHERRY DREAMS finially looked like it should and the hybridizers photo. Too little too late because as soon as I get a chance I am going to dig it up and toss it. This is one daylily that should never have been introduced (Shooter 2007).

Last Flower on CONTINENTAL HOLLIDAY.

EL DESPERADO is still looking good!

Waiting for those rebloom scapes is SO hard... at least I can SEE a few scapes coming up on mine... so, my guess is, in about two weeks you'll start to see more scapes. I am behind about two weeks from zone 8ers - and it seemed like you got your peak a few weeks after me...

If you are seriously going to pitch CHOCOLATE CHERRY DREAMS, I'll pay postage to adopt it!

I just love FM. I'm going to have to check this one out and see if I don't need it in my garden!! Pretty pics and who don't love El Desperado!!

I hate to admit the number of times I've scratched around plants trying to find tags. Problem is, it can take a couple of years for some to bloom, so tags aren't always readily visible.

Hey, I really like your seedling! The edge looks very promising. I'm with you about the heavy gold edges, but depending on the color of the self, some of them are growing on me. Lucky you to have bluebirds, and I love the photo. We get a nice variety (including green herons that return every year, although there isn't any water here, so their presence is a mystery). Hope you post pics as it gets bigger. Chris

Thank you, Seil! Yes, I overwinter my Hibiscus either in the unheated garage (under shop lights) on in the house. Yes, it is a bit of hassle, but in my opinion, well worth the trouble :)) I grow them in half whiskey barrels, they spend all summer outside. They love lots of sun and regular watering. This is another CH that I love, it is called 'Magnifique'. These Cajuns have really unique colors. Marina

Yes, I am seriously going to toss it. Send me an e-mail thru my gardenweb link and you can have it. There are alot of fans and I actually have TWO plants of it as one is currently potted so I guess theres enough for someone else too if they want a free (but ugly) daylily. I warn everyone, it has never ever looked as good as that picture. It is however, a very fast increaser so if you like lots of small fans with few ugly flowers then this is the daylily!

It sure is amazing how some people love certain DLs, while others hate the same ones! I was never very fond of Cho Ch Dreams either, but your most recent photo sure made me think twice...until you talked about the few flowers it produces. Oh well, it sounds like it's going to get a fine new home.

I am one of the oddballs who is not too excited about my El Desperado, with its crowded blooms....but I've already gone through that on a different thread.

You're so lucky to get re-bloom. Here it's very rare, unless we get lots and lots of July & Aug. rain.

Fiery Moment is my favorite here. Hot, hot, hot!

Rita,Your DL's are gorgeous.I love Elegant Candy and your Fiery Moment is a show stopper..Beautiful bloom.Love El Desperado,will be so happy when mine grows more fans and have a nice clump like yours.Love it.

These are all very nice, but somehting about your pic of Summer Re-run really catches my eye in this thread.

Great. I think its a good thing that tastes are so varied because there sure are enough daylilies so that something should please everyone.

Hi Rita - I really love red daylilies and your Fiery Moment caught my eye. I went to save the picture and it came up as Fiery Temper. I just wanted to verify which flower it actually is. On Tinker's Fiery Moment looks lighter than yours, and there is no picture of Fiery Temper. I always enjoy all your photos, thanks for posting them. Janet

It is Fiery Moment. I put the name as I am saving the pictures to my computer before putting them in photobucket, I find putting the real thing makes things easier for me. But sometimes, and this is the second time I did this, I am not thinking so much when I type the jpgs and write the wrong thing. I as I look at the picture in photobucket I am thinking to myself, what did I do, this is Fiery Moment, not Fiery Temper.

I hope this rather non clear explination makes sense. It really is Fiery Moment.

I hope those daylilies do well for all of those that I shipped them too. Believe me, I was very happy to send them OUT of my garden.
