What eats tomatoes (besides humans)? Squirrels? Birds? Raccoons?

Wondering how many of my 'bout-to-be-ripe Everglades currant tomatoes I am going to have to share. Will regular, run-of-the-mill gray squirrels eat tomatoes? If so, won't they tear up the plants, too? Just wondering how this is going to go. I know that they frequently tear up other plants while running up and down the trees in my backyard. I frequently find broken stems and my best guess is that it was caused by a squirrel.

Although I am a long-time gardener, this is my first time with anything edible. Don't ask why - - I don't know!!?
