Where can I buy a Fig Tree?

Has anyone spotted any variety of Fig Tree available at ANY SE MI. garden centers lately?? I've been poking around, but wasn't looking for figs. I want to try a fig tree in a large container, but am not sure if any are even available for purchase in this area. I'll cross-post in the fig forum, but was hoping some friendly local would have a suggestion.

I picked up a Brown Turkey at Telly's last week for $20. Ten inch pot with four branchs 12-18" long. I was very pleased. I also saw BTs at English Gardens. $50 for a tree trained to a 30" single leader. I thought this a bit steep.
I'm still interested in a Hardy Chicago, so if anyone sees one...

Hi Rafed, You hit the nail on the head there. I do believe that the Ronde is worth every penny and hopefully some day I can afford it. The day that I do get it will make all the wait well worth it! I myself collect all kinds of cool tropical fruits. I personally paid $125 for a very rare and awesome tasting mango variety that I got in Hawaii. I want everyone hear to know that I am NOT trying to be cheap or trying to get something for nothing. I know that eventually I will get my hands on the Ronde. I do know someone who may be able to sell me some cuttings when she cuts hers back but she did say that she could only knock off a few dollars so we will have to see. Andrew

Where can I find a Mission fig tree around Austin or SA?

Try Rainbow Gardens in SA. They usually have several varieties of figs. I don't remember seeing Mission figs. Lowe's and HD here mostly have Brown Turkey. They have two locations, scroll to bottom of link for info. Here is a link that might be useful: Rainbow Gardens

Where in Southern CA can I buy a bag of Dried Calimyrna figs?

Costco had them for sale for quite a while, but I don't see them on their website anymore. They were 'made in nature' brand of organic dried calimyrna figs. You might be able to buy one of their small 7oz bags online. If I hadn't eaten all of mine, I'd mail you some if you just want the seeds.
