Sunday and Monday blooms in Shive's Garden

This morning was so great - overcast and cool. I was able to weed and plant for several hours before the sun came out full force. I added some foliage plants - coleus and Persian Shield - to my circle bed, and I also planted a daylily and a lantana. I even had a late ffo today, and found new scapes emerging on two of my recent Maryott's acquisitions. Great morning!

You got alot done in the garden this morning. Not me, I got nothing done. All the blooms look really lovely as usual. My favorite bloom is NATALIE ANTOINETTE but I really love that picture of the UNINHIBITED triplets.

Thanks, Rita! I have some extra fans of NATALIE ANTOINETTE. If your SEVENTY TIME SEVEN multiplies, maybe we could trade in the spring.

I think you posted just the right amount. Cosmic Kaleidescope continues to dazzle me with that huge patterned eye. Eyes on the Prize is a real beauty with its dark, dark eye and edge. Heavenly Angel Ice is always gorgeous, but I didn't know it was such an excellent rebloomer. It's good to see your Last Chance for Romance. Mine may be dead. My male cat, Zuzu, took to spraying it daily and all the leaves except one or two in the centers of the fans have turned yellow. There aren't enough leaves to support any scapes, and none have emerged. I think I'm going to dig it up and put it in a pot today to try to save it. Debra

Jean: I know about hot and humid weather and we are suppose to get back to those dreadful temps/humidity later this week. For now, I'll enjoy the cooler and windy weather we are having now. Easier to get gardening work done. mantis: Glad it helps you. I don't mean to downplay a hybridizers creation but if it doesn't show improvement in 2 years, it has to go where it can flourish better. We've had an over abundance of rain which I think is part of the reason. I try to take pics early in the morning before the sun gets up too high. SOF is on the west side of the house so I have a chance of beating the sun before it saturates that area too. Not always successful and cloudy days are perfect for picture taking. There may be only a few Tom, but they're beautiful just the same. Love your NOID and your seedling too. Of course IR and AW are some of my very favs in my garden too. You may still see some rebloom scapes, who knows. :) I was out doing some watering earlier and noticed a brand new scape coming up on Cherokee Pass. I'm amazed at the amount of rebloom I've had, seems like they just keep coming. Hope yours do too. Thanks for sharing, BTW, cool pic of the mantis. LOL Jan

Thanks, Val! I've been so pleased with Natalie Antoinette and Silver Rings this season. They both keep blooming like Energizer Bunnies.

I hate to see VL go! I love ( still) Natalie Antoinette.. Your rebloom on Uninhibited looks a lot like a noid I have.. It reminds me a bit on a smaller scale of Fluttering Beauty....Ellie

Sounds like you had a glorious day Debra! You still have lots of beauty going on. My favorite is the tripple of SILVER RINGS, but NATALIE ANTOINETTE is a close second. I am more and more in love with that color combo every day, and such a graceful form! Beautiful!
