Spider invasion in vegetable garden

All my summer and winter squash as well as my eggplants have been invaded by spiders that re-symbol grand daddy long legs, but legs are shorter. They do not make webs and it seems the more I kill the more there are. They are eating the inside blooms of my eggplants causing the blooms to die and fall off. I have tried the soap and water spray and it doesn't stop them. I have never seen this before in my 25 plus years of gardening. I live in Kansas and even called the county extension and they have never hear of such and had no clue what I could do. It's also been a very bad year for squash bugs and vine borers. When it rains it pours, this was also the year of the locus, but thank goodness the water and dish soap spray keeps them at bay, works for grasshoppers as well. So has anyone ever come across these spiders? I'm at my wits end and would like to get some eggplants from my 10 plants. All my eggplants are about 4 feet tall, and I can resolve everything but these spiders.
