abbiejan, winter sowing is OUTDOORS, not indoors. (I originally thought the same thing) We plant seeds in containers in the winter and put them in the backyard for spring sprouting. I have 20 containers full of sprouts in my backyard right now. I am not into indoor gardening either - no space. lynnichols, sounds like winter sowing might be just right for you. We have a ton of Ohio/Columbus gardeners on there and we are all a friendly group. I have a thread over there right now with a roll call of Ohio (BUCKEYE!!!!!) gardeners.

There is one in at the Pruyn House in Latham and I have a few calls in to see if I can find any others. I have found belonging to garden clubs a nice experience. Of course there are always " personalities" in any club but I find they are there in life in gereral too.The gathering of gardeners to talk about and share gardens and gardening experiences is a great draw and a great time.
