Ornamental Grasses

Name of Ornamental Grass?

I have seen a very nice ornamental grass occasionally used around northern California (seems drought tolerant). It is very dense, and lies down flat like meadow grass I've seen in the wild in upstate NY. Does anyone know the name? Anyone know where I might find it?

A carex? Photo would help, if you can get one.

I believe that it is either a variegated sedge(carex) or a lariope. Not technically a grass.
