What a cool website. I have a couple of questions!

I'm relatively new to gardening with ornamental grasses. I've had luck with a few and not such good luck with a few others. Anyway, I have a dwarf blue fescue grass that looks miserable. It is a solid "clump" of dead grass on the bottom with tufts of blue sticking out of the top only. Is there any hope for it? How do I go about getting rid of the "clump". It's definitely beyond any "combing" process. Second question - I had a grass two seasons back that I ended up losing (apparently it was not the type that you cut back - oops!) It was also a dwarf, tan in color and hay-like in texture with slight curls on the ends. I'm wondering if anyone could help me to identify it. Thanks a bunch!
