You should be aware that moving them into sun unless they're acclimated to it can set the stage for varying degrees of photo-oxidation (sunburn), depending on what levels of chlorophyll the leaves contain. You can't take a plant that has grown in low light conditions and move it to high light w/o consequence. When a plant is growing in good light (like at the nursery), it can tolerate fairly high concentrations of fertilizer in the soil/nutrient solution. When you move the plant to low light, the plant can suddenly show symptoms of fertilizer burn - even if you have added no additional fertilizer. If you HAVE added fertilizer, it would exacerbate the problem. It is most likely you love your new charges so much you're over-nurturing/watering them. They like to be allowed to become fairly dry before the next thorough saturation. The drought response you're likely seeing can come from either over or under-watering. The root-rot that accompanies the over-watering makes it impossible for the tree to remain hydrated, even under normal conditions. I would suggest that you unpot the tree & inspect the root mass for dark, sour or acrid smelling roots. If you find them, you'll need to cut back the roots to viable tissue, repot, place the plants in bright shade, and control the want to water except when appropriate. Al

I had lantanas in SC that died completely back to the ground every winter and came right back out in the spring, and it sometimes got down to single digits there. The trick was to chop the dead parts down before they started coming out, or you were stuck with a bunch of dead sticks inside the plant. I chop my lantana back almost down to the ground every year anyway. It just makes them prettier and fuller. When I got here, my lantana was almost dead from spider mites. I chopped it completely down to about an inch tall, and it came back beautiful. I'm about to chop it back again too. I want to put it somewhere where it can just grow to its heart's content without smothering anything else.

It's definitely a Mulberry weed. First time I've ever seen it. I'm guessing a bird must have visited the flowerbed and dropped some seeds. :) I sprayed it with Roundup and after it works I'll yank them out one by one. Last week I pulled one out that was about 6" tall. The roots were over a foot long. This could end up being a chore. The heat & humidity is so bad there's no way I could start pulling them up. Maybe just one of them is a Lantana? lol

Did it get heavily pruned this year for the first time? My pomegranates will do this too if I've cut a lot back and I don't think it's anything to worry about. If they all grow out at the same time weak and thin, just choose a few branches that are growing in the wrong direction (like towards another branch) and cut them off. The lantana looks to be suffering from uneven watering (too much water then too little or vice versa), but maybe someone who knows more about lantana can chime in.
