pink muhly / Muhlenbergia Capillaris

Hi,

I live on the Northern California Penninsula.

I have a large mass planting of Pink Muhly grass. It is now middle of February and they still look great, although the plumes are a buff color not pink any longer, but they are still pretty like this. The bases still have green in them.

Does anyone know if these should be trimmed, how, when ?

Also, not sure if I am supposed to fertilize them,

when, with what, if at all ?

Some grasses are not supposed to be trimmed and/or fertilized. I do not want to hurt these.

any advice would be great ! thanks !
