Ok so here is my schedule I work from 7 to 3 at the zoo doing garden work Buy the winning lottery ticket and then you can work at the zoo when you want to, kids have track practice from 4 to 5.30 4 days a week plus meets that end at 6 they also have soccer practice 2 nights a week from 6.30 to 8.30 and 2 games on saturdays and my twins have state games practice and tournaments that we travel to Sell the children; just in case you can't buy the winning lottery ticket, then church on sunday mornings Become an agnostic; you can pray while you garden where do I find the time to work in my own garden?

I like Ricky's answer! But as sound and practical as that plan is, I found that gardening had to wait until my kids got older. I still have to drive them around some but less so than before. Don't rant, just do what you can when you can and enjoy it.

Do you get zoo poo to take home for your gardens?

Your life certainly sounds busy and I wonder how you do find the time to garden. I no longer belong to organized religion, but do pray in my gardens any time I feel like it.

When summer gets here won't you have more time to play once the kids are out of school? Although then we have the awful heat and humdity to work in and that's NOT fun at all.

Enjoy the times you are in your garden and try not to stress. I know it's easier said than done, but still worth a try. :-)

I work part-time and garden when I can. The past week I've also been dealing with back problems and that has kept me out of the gardens too.

My mind seems to be in the gardens a lot though, whether I'm there physically or not. I've got seeds to plant, cuttings to make, projects to do. All we can do is take each day as it comes and try to go with the flow.

Sorry, I can't rant right now. I retired last summer and if I don't have enough time to garden, it's because I'm doing other things I like to do (except for the housework, of course, still hate that). When I was working I worked alternate Fridays and Saturdays so every two weeks I had a day off when there was no one else around. That was my gardening day.

Hang in there, retirement is worth it.

I can't rant right now either....I just lost my job so I am on vacation for awhile myself...and before that I worked from home so I would just go out in the garden whenever I wanted to. As for church though...I can't think of a better place to pray than in my garden. Also DH and i have decided not to have kids so we will never be running around crazy like you do. That was actually one of the things we considered when we thought about how we wanted to live. I do have a puppy play date once a week...but they come over here :-)

There is a WHOLE new world out there waiting for you when your kiddos fly the coop
- as they are supposed to do ! You will be amazed at how much garden time appears when you are not being a Mom 24/7 in person . We are always Moms 24/7 in our heart . Hang in there .
I am busy from 5 a.m. until late at night and still manage to fit a lot of gardening in there . Not as much as others but enough to scratch the itch .
Can you enlist the help of your kids and DH ? An extra hand can really help at times .

I know being a working single mom hardly leaves you any personal time, but the yard and garden will always be there. The kids? Well like the song says "Don't blink" because it goes so fast. Hang in there.

I understand about church,tho. Even if I go to the early service I still have to come home and cook dinner. Besides it's the one day I "clean up good" and I hate to waste that effort by getting dirty again.

You could always make your kids help...that's what my parents used to do. :-)

I garden at night. I do spook the neighbours since all they see is a white light moving around the garden at midnight. I use one of those lights you strap onto your head - they are grrrrreat.
By the time my kids finish their homework, it is too late for them to work in the garden. They are not cooperative when it comes to garden work. Funny thing - the older one who hates gardening is doing a presentation on making a cutting (plant propagation) in school today

Flowerlady no zoo poo but lots of bamboo leaves and cardboard I will win the battle of the weeds lol

you are all right I will miss the kids and they do help all have chores and my son does the mowing hate that need more shade.

Jay I tried that one time and got chased by an armidillo scared me half to death than the scary movies my kids make me watch (parental control at work) come back to haunt me I have no close neighbors on 1 1/2 acre and I go running back to the house. LOL
