This is such an open ended question.....you need to narrow down your options somewhat. What size trees, flowering or shade, deciduous or evergreen. Is fall color important? Is there easy access to water? How much room is there to plant?

size and price is irrelevant ... you need to buy a named variety ... so that you can predict the output of the fruit[???] .. so that you can predict its genetic background ... which you can not do on a homegrown seedling ... e.g. ... presume you love red delicious apples .. then you go buy a RD apple tree .. which was grafted onto understock.. it will take a few years.. but you WILL end up with a RD apples .... if you take a seed out of a RD ... you will.. not unlike children .. get anything the family tree wished to dredge up ... lol .. but odds are high.. that it will NOT be a RD ... so if you really want a tree that produces a known quantity ... then go buy that tree ... and that may or may not be what the bigboxstore offers ... in CA.. its hard for me to believe.. that there are not specialty nurseries around.. that offer many many varieties of what you are looking for ... all that said.. avocado is not something i grow in MI .. lol ... so maybe that matters, and i have no clue on any of this .. but genetics matter ... so correct me if i am wrong ... but i doubt it.. lol .. now.. if you are just looking for a green tree .. and dont really care if you ever get anything worth eating.. go for the best bargain ... good luck ken

you have a home on a lake... you paid a premium for a view with a lake ... GET RID OF THEM .. and plant something more conducive to the view ... and if you take down 4 and replace with 4 living.. smaller plants.. net impact on mother earth.. zero .. dont listen to these tree lovers.. when it comes to YOUR VIEW ... and .. well you are at it.. get rid of the privet on the wall also .. or do you like trimming them 2 or 3 times per year ... presumably .. you just spent a year or two.. renovating the house.. tell me you improved and updated the whole house ... you didnt leave a bunch of the prior owners nightmares.. just because they made mistakes inside the house.. did you???? so lets move on to your next 'living room' .. that deck out there.. and make it the next prime.. updated.. sitting area ... good luck whatever you decide ken PS: if they had some attraction to covering the deck in poison ivy .. would you leave it there.. ?????

I ordered my bathroom beadboard via Nantucket Beadboard (www.beadboard.com) and LOVE it...It wasn't the cheapest option I had but I wanted it to hold up to moisture. My neighbors bath paint started peeling and separating after just a couple of years. You can go with strip products or sheet products. I went with strip products. And if you do go with sheet product, make sure it is thick enough and has a way to butt against each other and overlap.....so you don't get the awful joints. Especially awful on a light painted finish. Here's the link and a photo of my bathroom. For the whole room, I think it was around $300-$400...but definitely worth the quality material!
