Oh yeah 1 more thing , the vine has the gourd shaped leaves. But the fruit has texture like pumpkin.

Charlie Brown will be perfect thanks for that idea! I know I will try to save the seeds. Im not sure how to save them , do I dry them somehow? Ive never tried to save seeds.

Judy: thanks ! if you want i can trade some seeds from a giant pumpkin i have which is currently estimated at 870 lbs, they will be ready around the end of November.

Maxpower do you have any tips how I should save them when the time comes? Do I wash the seed and pat it dry or do I
need to sun dry them? Ive never saved seeds before.

Judy: what i do for my seeds is i put them in a colendar and wash them in the sink to get all the pumpkin off them, i also add a small bit of bleach to the water and i mean small this will help disinfect them, then i lay them out on newspapers under a lamp or in a sunny window, you can dry them out side but make sure you put a screen over them as teh birds and squirrels will take them away.
