I was wondering if anyone had any White Twinevine seeds for trade. I can't find any and was hoping that since it's a FL native someone here might have some available.
That's very pretty. I wonder if it is fragrant. You might try contacting the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens. You can find them online and they are great on answering emails.
Hi Karen, Never seen that before and it's native here, leave it to you to find all the cool plants! Let me know how it goes maybe I can talk you out of a seed or two :)
This plant has become an invasive nuisance on my property. I had never seen this plant and then, all at once, they started appearing all over. Normally they stay to the south, but with the warmer weather we have been experiencing over the last five years or so I guess they moved north to Central Florida. They supposedly are host plants for Monarchs, but I have never seen a caterpillar on one.
Karyn, since you are in zone 7 they would be an annual unless you overwinter them inside.
They are not pretty vines. They seem to seldom flower, although the small white flowers are kind of attractive when they show up. I'm sure they produce seeds, since they keep popping up all over, but I have never noticed them.
