Sam, you crack me up! You've asked this question before, I think just to get folks riled up...but the good thing is that folks like me get to hear all sides of the issue, to help us plan our ponds. Last summer, I did a lot of reading before putting in a bottom drain. I DIY'd it, with a toilet flange and 4" PVC...so far, no leaks! How do I know? Water level stays constant,except with hotter,drier weather, which I assume is evaporation. (Otherwise, the water loss would be constant) After all the reading I did, I came to the conclusion that a bottom drain would make things easier...and I want maximum enjoyment for minimum work! Hi My two cents. A definition of terms as related to this forum. Botany particularly in contrast to other sciences such as horticulture,Agriculture,landscaping.Microbiology. Clear definition of a plant.Would assume most interest would lie in vascular plants?? So a definition of this along with a note of the exceptions.Fungi,Lichens Commensuls molds mildews and microscopic.Obviously these could be a forum in themselves lol A guideline for a question within botany rather than Horticulture ,My assumption is that Botany is natural events within the plant world?? Not say manmade hybrids.or culture?? Maybe the basics on how a plant survives and reproduces? Maybe only vascular plants?? Maybe some references to books?? Since there are so many other forums dealing with many subjects a guideline on what type of question to post here?? Gary

That was so nice of you to add to me to the list, Louisianiapurchase. I admit that it feels darn good to be acknowledged as a help here. Especially since, like some others whose kitchen projects are either long ago completed or ABP, I've not been posting as frequently now as I have in the past. I still feel compelled to restate a point I hinted at earlier, though. And that is, despite our best intentions of calling people out for thanks in a single thread (including me), I can't help but feel a bit sensitive about the feelings of so many other really great contributors - both current and past, both frequent and occasional- whose names may never surface in this thread. (I hesitate to name those who immediately come to mind because the minute I do that, I'll surely make the mistake of omitting some others). But you know who you are. And if your name is not mentioned, please also know that doesn't mean your participation isn't valued! So, again, for all of you who come to these boards (minus the trolls, spammers and nutjobs, of course),whether it's to share your dreams and accomplishments or your challenges and struggles, or whether to offer advice or to ask questions, a round of hand claps is in order. After all, you are the ones who only not help all of us to unravel the great mysteries of the kitchen but who also help me to live my life as a TKO with dignity and pride . . . as opposed to trying to downplay or hide my kitchen addiction from my friends my family. :-) Thank you!

My iPad suddenly switched yesterday to the new format for no discernible reason. Cannot switch it back. I've tried everything. I just wrote an email to Houzz about it. I asked how I could switch my view back to old format. I also mentioned how there are hundreds of additional posts on the new "Kitchens Discussions" that are from other forums and I don't want to wade through them, and also mentioned the busy and annoying layout.
