Here is that news that we have ALL been waiting for!! The date for the Annual Spring Plant Swap is: April 20th, 2013 I have been doing this now for right around a decade...SO, I have lost what number this is. Anyway, Here is the gist of how it works: 10am set-up starts and browse....11am swap officially starts..immediately afterwards...LUNCH! Bring ALL your extra plants, if it grows, it will go! Including Houseplants! Also any garden related items, Hoses, Garden Art, Containers, Etc. We are having it at Park Circle in North Charleston, by the Gazebo. There are picnic tables, bathrooms and LOTS of room for kids to play and even more room for plants, parking and food. Pretty much everybody in Charleston is familiar with Park Circle....there are numerous ways to get to it, depending on which way you are coming. If you want or need directions, e-mail me, TheCitrusGuy@netzero.com I will get it and respond ASAP. The way we swap will be the basic Free For All. I will say go, everybody will grab ONE (1) plant and take it to their hiding area. After everybody has a plant, we repeat the process. Nice and Simple! We will have plates and napkins and such, Please bring your own drinks and a covered dish for as many as you can. We like to do a Pot Luck style picnic and encourage everybody to stick around and participate. I plan to be there as well. Fionasol, I just emailed you to ask about this, should have done a more thorough search first. Anyway, I'm just wondering, what if I don't know the exact names of specific plants? I plan to bring many varieties of hosta, daffodil bulbs, a few trilliums, a jack in the pulpit or two, perhaps some ferns and a couple of other things. We bought this house last year, I'm a beginner as gardeners go and I only know the common names of everything not the names of the specific varieties. Any advice on what to do?

Time is growing near! This Sunday! I'll be bringing a great many plants, some left over from a fund-raising plant sale this spring. I'm looking for Shade plants: Named, or at least variagated, hosta Lungwort Lamium and False Lamium Coral Bells, all types Astilbe, all types Bleeding heart Columbine Lily-of-the-Valley Variegated Bishop's Weed/goutweed Not shade plants: "Thai Dragon" hot peppers Herbs, especially Lovage And just about anything interesting!
