Lantana are supposed to be deer resistant but they sure ate all of mine down to the ground. I imagine Ti Leaf would be a delicious treat for them.

They sure will. I've seen them eat bittersweet vine in Maine when I was there. They were quite hungry at the time, so YMMV, of course. I repel rabbits and deer from my garden (and marigold, which they will certainly eat when young and luscious) with a spray I make cheaply at home: 1 gal water 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp Tabasco sauce 1 small squirt dish soap (helps the stuff stick, but optional) A few drops white glue, like Elmer's (optional, but also helps it stick, and tastes awful) It's non-toxic to you, birds, the rabbit, and the deer, but very distasteful. I tend toward the lower end of Tabasco, but others tell me that persistent animals may require the upper level to be fully repelled. I've never seen that personally but now include it just in case. Spray very lightly over the plants and repeat after rainfall or top watering. It won't stop a starving animal, but will send one with other options elsewhere. One gallon should, in a sprayer that atomizes pretty well, cover 2,000 square feet of garden twice or so, but heavier application won't harm the plants at all.

Bay laurel = Laurus nobilis? No, because mine is on my deck and the deer don't go there. But if it were planted out in the yard, they'd probably eat a lot of other things before bay laurel - euonymus, daylily buds, and hostas would be their preferred diet in my yard! I think Laurus nobilis is listed my many sites as being 'deer-resistant'. Do a check. But every region is different and deer have different tastes! Depends on how hungry and desperate they are.

If you check listings of deer resistant plants, sunflowers rate pretty low. On a scale of A to D - A being plants rarely damaged by deer and D being plants frequently browsed by deer - sunflowers only rate a C or occasionally severely damaged by deer. IME, deer will sample just about anything - listed as deer resistant or not - and young deer tend to be the worst offenders (maybe adults have more sophisticated palates??). It also depends on what other succulent sources of nourishment might be available in your garden.....deer definitely have their preferences. Sunflowers also get decimated by birds, raccoons and other small climbing mammals. Rats adore them!!
