Vegetative centers -- I usually call that 'proliferation'. I had not heard your term before. They can happen for all sorts of reasons. I once had a Souvenir de la Malmaison that proliferated all season long, each and every rose. I got rid of it. Buford, I did not know that was called a bullhead. I see it once in a while. It fills me with regret, a wasted bloom. Folly

Plants arrived in stunning condition. My friends and family wonder why I order things from so far away and pay such a premium, but anyone who had been here when I opened that box would understand in a heartbeat. Here they are soaking immediately after arrival at 5pm- I used aged tepid water with a couple of drops of Superthrive. They had been in the box since the evening of the 17th, this past Tuesday. Here is the Meyer- And my beloved Dancy Tangerine- Yes, that's a mighty big pot- the roots on that thing were enormous. I'm thinking maybe it isn't the most popular variety because of the seeds and perhaps my tree is more of a 3-4 year old than a 2-3 year old. I know not to overpot but there was no way those roots were fitting in a smaller pot. And a little bloom- I moved away from South Florida five years ago TODAY (talk about a coincidence!) and to smell this fragrance again is heavenly. I am delighted with the trees- they are very well grown vigorous trees with way more branching than I anticipated- two thumbs up on quality. There was not the first leaf damaged or dropped- we'll see how long that lasts, LOL. But I have a good feeling about them. Fun day!

Hi, did you get your tree taken care of yet? Where in Central NJ do you live? There is a great family company, Neuls Tree service, from near Bordentown. I find them quite fair and reasonable. Removal can be darn expensive, but I think they might charge $500?? I got the old crippled up lady who let her yard get overgrown discount, but feel whatever price they quote is fair. If you did get it done, what did you pay?

Hope the honeysuckle recovers too!I have a winter honeysuckle that I enjoy a lot. If the flower buds were not visible, it may tougher trying to see if the buds made it ok. Like you said, you will just have to wait and see then. If they had been visible, you could visually notice whether they were damaged as they turn brownish. So, not much you can do now but wait and see if the shrubs are rebloomers (low chance of that if the prev owners pruned them and got no blooms).
