Fig Withdrawal

The last leaves have fallen.
The potted trees are sheltered from the elements.
The in-ground trees are mulched with chopped maple leaves.
THERE IS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FIG TREES!
I tried planting the seeds from a package of dried figs that I bought a Trader Joe's last week - but watering bare soil in a pot is not very rewarding.
A cutting from the infamous petite negri went dormant, then produced 2 tiny leaves, so it is now under a light, and I look at the pathetic thing every day for signs of growth.
I search the web for one-more new tidbit about growing figs, or their botany, or their history. There are only so many times that I can read the same factoids over and over. Having run out of English-language web sites to read about figs, I'm now reading (quite funny) auto-translations of sites from around the world.
I'm going through withdrawal!
