There is a Canadian source that I'd love to be able to have access to because of the varieties they have (Paradiso and Fiorone di Ruvo for starters). They won't ship to the US. I don't know anything about the quality of their trees, or care taken in keeping their varieties tagged correctly. I'm absolutely not saying that there is a problem - I just don't know anything about them beyond what's on their web site - so this is more information than endorsement.

They could probably tell you what figs are best for your area - it's important to get suitable varieties.
We can't bring in plant material from other countries to the US without all kinds of paper work, that make it so difficult, that it's not feasible. Probably why Adriano's won't ship here. I don't know whether you would have the same problem getting stuff into Canada from here - but it's very likely - so I won't give you any US suppliers.

The two most widely planted (and reliable) varieties in Vancouver are Desert King and Lattarula - these two varieties probably comprise 50 percent of figs in Vancouver and are the
most reliable. Both Celeste and Osborn Prolific also produce
reasonably well.

My uncle Frank, who lives in Vancouver, has a Desert King the size of his garage. There's more than enough for his family, the neighbors and the birds.

Thanks to all for the valueable info. Looked up adriano's site & have shortlisted some interesting plants. Fresh figs tasted so good from my friend's tree & he doesn't even know what it was. He would be digging a plant for my garden in spring. They were large & dark with some splits. My wife would be a happy queen for now especially knowing the opportunity to have fresh figs from summer till fall from our own backyard. Thanks folks.
