The roses are beautiful. I can almost smell them. I love the wildflowers. I have a small bed with several different trillium and a lonely yellow lady's slipper. Lots of Jack in the pulpit and ginger with the blue star and some that I don't know the names of. Happy to see a daylily blooming. I have a few scapes but it's been extremely dry so they are a little slow. Ellie

Roper, that is a great looking daylily. Larry, I like the color of your seedling. Rita, when everyone else's blooms are gone, we will be blessed with shots of your extra lates. I know you have some beauties:) I told my daughter I am going to have to steal a start of her Tuscawilla Tigress. Her first year of daylilies and she gets one that blooms earlier than any of mine that I've collected over the past six years! It came from a local garden so I don't think it would be one of those that blooms after being transplanted from another zone. Finally an early bloomer that really does bloom early in our area besides Stella. Vickie

Brad, every bloom has been perfect from the first on Exotic Starfish, It is a nice size and I am tryly enjoying it. As I said Grape is MY Favorite Color was a very lucky gift plant. It is a pretty one. And anyone can see I love Judy Davisson's intros...Great Aunt Picklebottom is doing better this second year, taller and more blooms, and I look forward to the leap year...WRPD has always done very well here. THANKS, Mantis. Verbascum is a newly discovered treasure. I planted it a year ago and already it has reseeded lots of babies in close proximity. I wasn't sure how it would overwinter but it came back fine. I also had not seen the pink variety and think it is much prettier. Maryl, the gray foliaged plant with those bright magenta blooms is rose campion. Scientific name is lychnis coronaria. This is another one of those plants that reseeds everywhere in my garden. It is a fuss-free plant and provides a bright pop of color. I started with just one plant last year.....kinda hard to believe, but true. Those are all babies! (closer photo below) Julia, after finding my first Japanese beetles yesterday, I had to go out with a bucket of soapy water and knock a couple dozen off my roses. The war has begun. Glad I was able to enjoy the roses a week longer than usual. They are toast now.
