These are all the first flowers to open on all of the plants. Some looked better than others, but none were ugly. Enjoy!

Its a treat looking at these lovely pictures. Those first two of Asian Emissary and Blueberry Sunday are both wowsers but I have to say the Blueberry Sunday takes the cake for me LOL. Love it.

I meant to type Blueberry Sundae, not Sunday...lol! Oh well. Thank you Rita for the nice comments. When I first saw Blueberry Sundae open (and I had been waiting patiently for two years), the first word to come from my mouth was, Wow! Beautiful flower, and it held up well in the sun and heat, with very little fading. It'll be a good one to do crosses with. It was well worth the wait. BTW, the Chocolate Cherry Dreams you gave me is starting to show a scape, so maybe in a couple weeks we'll get to see how it does here in Ohio.

Elisa Dallas is probably my favorite, but you have some really great daylilies. Great picture of Wild Horses. I had mine 3 years before I really saw what everyone was raving about. It had nice blooms, but not a lot, but last year it did quite well, & this year it was just covered. My Destined to See never showed up this year. I thought I had moved it & was sure it would turn up, but nope. Same with Malaysian Monarch. Both were decent sized clumps, they were there last fall, I don't understand how they could just vanish.

Years ago when I first started flower gardening I just used to stick things here and there willy nilly. I was never satisfied with the results. In the end I had to redo all the hodgepodge anyway. Much better for me to plan it out. Then I actually lay it out using a combo of edging, sticks and bricks (for spacing and making were plants actually go) before I start planting. Things turn out better this way, at least for me. I don't start much from seeds (too busy) and I usually buy the mix colors cosmas by the flat at the nursery. Got those also but got lots of seeds of things I wanted to try. These are Cosmic Red Cosmos and I really like them. I have other colors of reds and yellows cosmos but I never got around to starting them. The Portulacas I bought plants but the other side of the cosmas are some Zahara Double Fire Zinnias that I also started myself from seed. Notice I picked really easy things to grow from seed. Cosmos and zinnias are about as easy as one can get LOL! That front yard gardenbed that I call the planterbox (were I just put the iris) I have been working on. I put the front part which is two rows of daylilies and needed to do something for the back. I decided the iris would be good because most of the time you really would not notice the row of iris (leaves only) back there but they get plenty of light by the terrace wall. Then in the spring they would be easy seen when they bloom.

The pictures are large for me. If they once were large, your computer should have in its memory the larger size. Sometimes when I enter via a google search, I see the small pictures; but when I enter via the saved garden web address, I always see large pictures. Also, when I upload via the saved address, the pictures are large, both in initial post and comments. I have not had much success posting in anything other than comments. The post often disappears and then shows up later, sometimes much later. So brilliant, the Houzz techies. Photos may appear small when you load them, but they are larger when viewed by someone who regularly gets large pictures. So when I load, the pictures look small, but when I submit the post, the pictures are large. Houzz will not let me delete posts, only delete comments.

Or....instead of social distancing maybe they are wearing masks so they cannot bud!!!! Good to see you back! After that kind of physical labor every day, I don't think anyone could feel like posting at night. First, beautiful picture with grandchild. I cannot imagine 14!!! Next, beautiful Princess Syndrome-probably made even better by your purple soil. Love the colors. I always like to see Marietta Warrior. It has that big fat flat look I so like. Wispy Rays certainly greeted you with a bright face! Keep them coming when you have time. Expecting the purples, you know. And I so wish I could send you some of our rain. It rained every day last week, three days this week and more expected next week. I have already lost one and maybe two new lilies to rot from sitting in water underground. Thanks for posting pictures! I ought to like BBS best, but maybe because it's so HOT here, the delicate frostings on Whispering seem to be my favorite today. That's a good picture of it!

You have some real beauties there Karen. It would be hard to pick a favorite. Love your Laughing Clown though. I like really different ones, and don't care if they are older varieties. I'm adding Laughing Clown to my Wish List! Thanks for sharing,

When I saw your first two pics, Asian Emissary and Blueberry Sundae, I was drooling at the mouth. They are exactly what I need more of.

The others are very pretty too and I love that close-up of Ornamental Focus.

I'm sooo jealous. I tried to order Blueberry Sundae last year and it was sold out. I tried to order from another place this spring. They refunded my money because it had died. I love your BS and Ornamental Focus is now on my wish list.

Aww, thank you everybody. You make me blush. I have plenty more daylilies still sending scapes and coming near to blooming for the first time this year, some for the first time since I planted them last year. I wish I didn't have to work at all this time of year. I miss out a lot on opportunities to take good photos of my plants. Ten in the morning seems to be the ideal time, when the lighting is just right, but I'm at work then five out of seven days of the week. Sigh. Oh well. Must make money to buy more daylilies...lol!

Very nice collection!

After seeing your picture I'm so excited to see 'Blueberry Sundae'. I discovered it at the display garden I bought. It was growing in the back fighting for water with tree roots so I brought it home & put it in a nicely ammended spot before I even looked it up to see what I had. What a pleasant surprise. Hopefully it will improve in plant condition now that it has good culture.

Your little unknown looks like another 'Siloam' but I'm not sure which one.
